How to Donate Books to
the Wentz Library

Because the Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg and the staff of the A. R. Wentz Library count so much on its devoted alums and friends to supply it with material that we will add to our circulating collection or put in our semi-annual book sale, we look forward to working with our donors to ensure that we can handle the flow of material with our limited staff and time.  To be able to assist you, we require potential donors to contact us to make arrangements for the time of delivery and amount of expected material and NOT to bring material without making prior arrangements.

Whether you wish to make an individual book donation (e.g., a rare book or a very old book) or the contents of a pastor's library packed in many boxes, please contact Mrs. Karen Hunt (khunt@ltsg.edu) or call her at the Wentz Library Circulation Desk (717-338-3014) during her working hours listed below:

Tuesday     8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday     8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Thursday     8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Friday     8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

We cannot receive boxes of books unexpectedly or on the weekends!

Mrs. Hunt will schedule with you a mutually convenient time for you to bring in the material.  When you arrive, come to the Circulation Desk at the main entrance and the desk assistant will direct you to Mrs. Hunt, who will suggest the appropriate unloading site.  You will be asked to complete a form which will be used to send an official acknowledgment to thank you for your donation.

If you wish to donate clerical clothing, please direct your inquiries to the Rev. Dr. Mark Oldenburg at 717-338-3028.
