Lewars House, built in 1925, is the residence of the President of the Seminary. Until 1958 the house and surrounding property were owned by the family of Dr. J. A. Singmaster (the Singmaster Professor of Biblical Theology) and resided in by Elsie Lewars Singmaster, daughter of Dr. Singmaster and a well-known authoress. The Seminary purchased both the house and the property in 1958 and after remodeling this was designated as the President's House.
