Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg seeks your assistance
in preparing women and men of outstanding ability, character, and
leadership to meet the needs of the Church in the 21st century and
3rd millennium.
Up to six LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS for full tuition
will be awarded annually to selected incoming students for full-time
study in the Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Ministerial
Study program (preparing for service to the church).
Scholarship
recipients will display exemplary performance in undergraduate
service in college chaplaincy/ campus ministry programs, church
camp programs
or similar activities that develop leadership skills valuable
in community life and ministry.
Please nominate any outstanding people with whom you've worked
in recent years who match the following criteria (self-nomination
is
encouraged also):
evidence
of intellectual ability and curiosity, emotional maturity,
and spiritual readiness to undertake graduate level study in
theology
demonstrate
leadership in programs of college chaplaincy/campus ministry
programs, church camp programs or similar activities
that develop leadership
skills valuable
in community life and ministry
engaged in
the judicatory body's (synod, diocese, conference) candidacy process for
service in ministry
possess people
skills and the gift of gracious hospitality
embrace the
elements of the Seminary's vision statement
plan to study
full-time in the Seminary's program beginning with the Fall 2004 semester
These scholarships are renewable each year and will increase in amount
with any rise in tuition during the period of eligibility. Recipients must
make
satisfactory
academic progress in the master's degree program. Lengthy interruptions
of study will require re-application.
