What is a Planned Gift?

Planned giving is that part of the seminary's fundraising program that focuses on the creation of gifts that usually involve other professional advisors to the donor and often require the creation of a legal contractual document.  A planned gift enables the donor to combine personal, family, and charitable goals in an overall estate plan.

The most common ways of making planned gifts are by:

• will
• charitable remainder trust
• charitable lead trust
• charitable gift annuity
• pooled income fund
• life estate
• bargain sale
• revocable trust and
• beneficiary designations of a person's life insurance, Individual Retirement Account or other estate asset.
