The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg possesses one
of the most dynamic, young faculties in theological education.
Their preparation runs broad and deep,
having completed degrees, studied and conducted
research in at least six different countries, in multiple languages and from
different perspectives.
Teachers come from the Church, called to a special role as educators,
scholars and mentors. At the core of the Lutheran Theological
Seminary at Gettysburg is the love and labor of faith-filled
women and men who give their wisdom and encouragement to
others called to serve the Church.
Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary’s faculty has always reflected
the richness of a gifted people of God. It was the first Lutheran
Seminary to have a tenured woman professor on its faculty, the
first to have faculty positions in Christian education, psychology,
sociology, and stewardship.
The scholar-teachers of Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary include 17
full-time and additional part time faculty who have a deep and
faithful academic commitment to the task of preparing women and
men for ministry leadership. We also are blessed with the rich
resources of visiting, adjunct and emeriti professors. Finally,
we have full partnership with the faculties of the other schools
in the Washington Theological Consortium.
