The Lutheran Center for Theology and Public Life equips the church’s
leaders to reflect and respond theologically to moral, political,
ecumenical, and economic issues facing the church and society. The

The Center reflects the Seminary’s 30-year commitment to ecumenical
partnership and desire to access national and international arenas
for public debate and policy-making.
Qualified participants have access to courses, libraries and the
full resources of the Washington Theological Consortium and Lutheran
Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. The “House of Studies,” a
convenient, readily accessible house in N. E. Washington, offers
residency to a select number of students and researchers seeking
a semester or year of study in the nation's capital. Through this center, you can:
