News analysis from one Lutherbowl intrepid reporter:

The CCM Bowl (formerly known as Luther Bowl until a BCP joined Tappert on the throne) trophy was almost returned to Lutheran hands yesterday. Gettysburg handled Philadelphia handily in the first contest despite the respectable quarterbacking of one Rick Summy, as did Virginia over Trinity. Both visiting Lutheran teams were handicapped by their small numbers having to play both offense and defense. In the championship, LTSG and VTS were matched person-for-person on the line, in the backfield and with the wide receivers. When time elapsed, the score was tied 6-6. It took 5 (that's five) overtimes for VTS to score the winning touchdown. After championing the Concordat and CCM, we now see the downside.
